    is it possible to let visitors choose between different background images, just like a changing BG color

    yes, the way you would do this is to have each background as a movie clip, and have buttons that will change the images. It's very simple.

    If you look at Desertsnowmans site (URL When I find it) he did that - cant remeber whether he still does.... but mg33 gave you the Flash side - if your jus embedding flash in a HTML doc and you wanna change that - then a plain colour can be changed using a pretty basic JScript!
