saving to file from flashplayer without server/cgi

i've lost link - some time ago i saw the tutorial that explained how to output variables from flashplayer to text file on local windows machine. also there was explained how later, when you run flashplayer again - it'll load info from that file and let you modify again. it used some dos commands/scripting but i don't remember how..

please if anyone have an url or know how to make this - let me know.. thanks.
