I'd really like to use the OnClipEvent handler, but it's always "greyed" out. what do I have to do to be able to use it?

You can apply it to instances of movie clips in your main movie.

Create a new movie clip, drag it to the stage, select it and then the "clipevent" should not be greyed out...

    hope it helps

The onClipEvent handler only works in the Object Actions of a movie clip. You can access these by right clicking on a movie clip and choosing 'Actions', selecting a movie clip and hitting CTRL+ALT+A, or clicking on the blue arrow in the Instance panel.
