I tried to run "winipcfg" but it didn't find it. Does that not work on Win2k Pro?

k, winipcfg is renamed ipconfig in Win2k Pro, but when i run it, it appears to go the Dos prompt, but it runs it real quick and then it disappears right away before I can see anything

how do i configure Dos to NOT terminate when program is complete?

why dont you just have a mod check your ip and mail it to you? they can do that by looking at the bottom of your post...

    On Win2K:

    It's not winipcfg.

It's ipconfig /all and that will show the neccesary information.

Remember win98 and win2k are two different things.

correct - and if the info runs by too fast ~ there's always the /p switch

MG - did you check your paging file?

actually, mine isn't dynamic, i'm always connected at my university, and even if I release and reassign, I get the same IP number

anyway, I needed it so my cousin could connect with me to play Links LS2001 golf head to head

    I whupped him

    my ip almost never changes

I keep my computer on all the time
    just for that reason

and my cable provider refreshes its ips every 48 hours so if my computer is on at that time i keep the same one

and if my computer is off and no one has taken that ip i get it again

    so basicly it never changes
Its nice for running servers etc

Does that look correct? Every now and then a message comes one saying that it's increasing my virtual memory. Not totally sure why.
If you have any suggestions about what I should change, feel free to tell me.

    Thanks,

    Hi MG

How many drives/partitions in your computer?

    You must have 128MB RAM???

I'd suggest 1.5 times RAM PLUS 12 - to each drive/partition ~ that's how I have mine set and I don't have any problems with it at all. And I'd set the min and max static - for example if you set your virt. memory to 194 - keep it 194 min and 194 max - but do it for each drive/partition

Until I realised this was a 10 year old thread, I was going to suggest looking under the cushions on the couch. that's where I always find mine.
