baboons...more than big monkeys? Text and your health...next on Flashkit.

hi. the forum is kind of like fishing. im trying some new lures.

    anyway.

tweening an element with multiple lines of text slows down my environment quite abit...more so than any other graphical element.

now...i can imagine the reasons for this, but, are there ways around it? i would love to use the effect of my article easing in through a tween, but not if it slows down the rest of my movie to a crawl.

let me know your opinion of this, and id love any feedback/comments/insults you have to give.

I have noticed that text does slow down flash movies quite abit, you might try using a font that is widely used like arial or something and instead of embeding the font set it to use the system font. that might speed things up a bit, i wouldn't know for sure it's just an idea. also try using actionscript to move the text instead of tweens, that would help as well.
