    Cool

    Hello all!
I am looking for the best-least expensive web hosting company. I am an individual and don't require a tone of space or email address. I just need a host that will support my 500k flash site, for the least amount of moola.
I am just starting my company and really need to get this figured out
Thanks in advance for any advice!
    Melissa

A company that I refer to on occasion is http://www.Prevo.net
The monthly fee for 40 MB of space, 20 email aliases, CGI or FrontPage and many extras is $4.95 US per month.

In addition, they have agreements with a domain name registrar at $9.95 per year, and you completely own the name.

Not a bad little package, and they have online credit card billing.

    Regards,
    Jabez

***Edited to add this... This host does not make you display a banner, but currently does not offer PHP or ASP. I do know that they are looking at adding these options in addition to their current package in the near future.

I am in the same boat. I also require NO banner ads and may also need PHP / ASP support.

I just found out about http://www.doteasy.com
They offer free hosting, no banners, but it's $35 to transfer your domain name. I don't know if they support CGI/PHP/ASP, etc.

    My sites are divided between Communitech ( http://www.communitech.net ) and Tera-Byte ( http://www.tera-byte.com ).

Of the two I'd recommend Tera-Byte. They have rapid response time on their customer service, they offer a lot of tiers of virtual hosting plans, including affordable ASP, CGI, etc. For smaller and less server-intensive sites I'd recommend them highly.

I've put a lot of strain on Communitech's servers (for virtual hosting, anyway), and I've gotten more than enough slaps on the wrist from them (i.e. shutting down my Perl script permissions without notifying me) to know that it's not the right host for me. Overall they're also good for smaller and less server-instensive sites, but they're more expensive than Tera-Byte and their billing/customer service is pretty slow to respond.

    not bad.

Jaguarpc.com is quite good! I'm not just sayin that cuz they host my stuff. Some small connectivity problems caused by VDI in the past week or so, but overall a great company. Did you ever end up switching to them pjwarneka?
