Coincidence?
I was just thinking the same thing (see my post in General Flash 5 help that I just posted yesterday). Where did you see the xml message board at? I would love to take a look at it...
Thanks.

hi there
i've done lots of experiments with flash and xml
and IMHO and the best message board solution I
found was this:
1)flash receives input from the person adding a
message and its sent to a database
via asp/sql
2)database returns the results and the asp converts
it to xml on the fly
3)flash loads the xml and displays the results
theres a chapter in the 'flash 5 studio' book
by friends of ed explaining in detail how to
hook xml to flash in this method.
i was really intimidated by server tech before i
read this, but now its a relative breeze.
dont worry, you dont have to learn loads of
asp/sql, just enough to get the job done.
(i dont work for friends of ed by the way .
just thought this might help.)

well i think i'll go with cgi as the xml message board is made with cgi scripts as writing a whole message board is a little too much for me! anyway there is one problem the xml files can't be too big as it will jam up flash!
anyway i don't have any books on flash and everything i learned so far is just mathematical and algebra, i have some experience with hooking up php and variable text files but that's it this is going to be hard for me but hell if i can do this i atleast have something noone ever made )
i think it's going to be lot's of work but i'm up to it i like a challenge!

I really like the idea of a xml board, so if anyone has
any links to scripts or could send em to me id really
appreciate it. An xml board would be great coz it could
be used for more than just flash. I like the idea of using
it to also add a forum function to a jabber client that can
also be accesed via a flash page.
So please any code or ideas would be great.

how about helping me code a xml/flash board??
it would speed up the proces a bit and since the code is the core the design can vary very easily
ofcourse i got all the resources i need for the moment only thing is that it will consume time!
