animated gifs

is it possible to make an animated gif work with a movieclip symbol in your flash file? I'm having a spot of bother.

I'm not sure I got the question

But if you want you can import a GIF into a fla
Just open a movie and import the GIF.

Go to file -> import -> Locate the GIF-> select -> and your done

i'm having trouble seeing my movieclip which is a little animation (that i have in my flash file as a symbol) play within an animated gif which i have exported, any ideas?
