See this thread http://board.flashkit.com/board/show...?postid=194857 .
jelve.com has 7 sites hosted at http://www.burlee.com and we're very pleased with the level of service we receive. (A human being answers the phone 9-9, M-F.)
Other FK members have been pleased with Blue Zebra. http://www.bluezebrahosting.com

jaguarpc.com
I use jaguarpc.com
good prices and service. They also give you a TON of stuff for free that other places charge for.
Things Like:
non-www access (you dont have to type www to view the site)
custom error pages (not just 404)
shopping cart
sub-domains (sub.domain.com)
etc..etc..etc..
Dont take my word for it, check out what other JPC users say at http://www.jaguarpc.com/boards/YaBB.pl
Oh, by the way, I dont work for them or get anything for this, I am just very happy with them

I use http://www.doteasy.com. It's free web hosting - just a $35 fee to transfer your domain name. You get 20MB, a bunch of e-mail addresses @yourcompany.com, and I've never had any problems...

setup fees
I dont know why, but setup fees piss me off...bad!

I use a couple of places. The one I use for my main site, Wyenet, has:
$20 month
500mb
Perl, php,...
MySQL, mSQL
I am not sure if they still charge a setup fee; they may not.
24 hour 800 phone support. I have used these support guys more than once, and they are usually quite helpful.

sounds good, but what do they allow in terms of transfer?
-
Well, you don't have to pay anything to transfer your domain name, you just have to change you DNS info over to their server, if I remember.
They also offer the below too,
non-www access (you don't have to type www to view the site)
custom error pages
simple shopping cart
But not the sub domain stuff.
I don't think they are the best out there, but they are about as good as I have found yet.
One thing they don't offer is JSP and Servlets support, which is about the only bad thing for me, but most people don't use JSP anyway.
By the way Lou C. Fur, I think that you said is a past post some where, that you took some business classes, and that they really helped you. I know that this is off topic, but what where the specific of the classes? Where they marketing, management, or like low or high level classes?

Think I'll stick with jaguarpc.com
they offer
50mb disk space
6gig data transfer
10 pop3
3 ftp accounts
3 sub-domains
1 sql database
cgi-binUnlimited Password Protected Dirs
Customizable Error Pages (not just 404)
XML capable sites
Wap enabled servers help you build your site for mobile internet access
Non-WWW storage space
Perl 5 Installed
Python and C++ module built in to Apache
SSI (Server Side Includes) Support
NO CONTRACTS
NO SETUP FEES
GREAT SUPPORT (no phone #, but great e-mail support and forum.)
and a TON of other stuff!
for only 9.95/mo (this is NOT one of thoes pre-pay deals. This is their REAL price)
They also have other plans with more kewl stuff and a great Reseller program! Keep an eye out for their specials. The deal my design site is on ROCKS!
I think I said this before, but I dont work for them nor do I get anything for this. I'm just VERY happy with what they offer.
Anyhow
I took, and still take a bunch of business classes. Marketing was probaley the best. Let me dig up the all the info and I'll post it as another thread in an hour or so
