Thread: Uninstalling mac programs

    Cool

    Hey, if anyone could tell me an easy way to uninstall software and programs on my mac, that would be great. I know how to do it on windows, but i am new to the mac and dont know how

    SOME installers have the ability to unistall in the install window, just change the setting from install to unistall and the software will be removed. If that is not available then check the company website for an unistaller. If that is not available then you need to remove the program items from the prefrences and extensions folders, and the program itself. If you don't know what to throw away I don't think it would be in your best intrest to try this method. You can also try disabling the extensions to that program in the Extensions Manager.

    I just usually trash the program folder, then move the extensions and preferences to the desktop or a temp directory. These can then be trashed once you are sure your system is still running properly...
