    HI!!

when you make a flash sniffer in flash - it only really works if the user already HAS a flash player. if they have nothing, then they are s.o.l.
and when i tried it through javascript, it will play the swf even if the user has a flash 4 player - so nothing really works.

thanx for taking the time to read this - ANY advice or opinion is GREATLY GREATLY appreciated.

listen, use the 18px X 18px method (you know which one I mean, right?)

If the sniffer detects flash, send them to the Flash URL. If the sniffer doesn't detect it, send them to a page that they can DL the flash player.

    Easy-peasy, macaweasy!!

have you tried the dispatcher from macromedia? it's a combo of js, vbscript and flash for the detection and redirect.

I have found the macromedia method spoty

I have a small mvie that with an _root command sends it to thelast frame which open the flash file if it does not make it this script in my index page "<META http-equiv="Refresh" content="2; URL=noflash.html">" will redirect in 2 seconds to noFlash which explains the lack of a plug in - good luck
let me know if you have any questions
