    KingJoe,

    Your God what?

All the stuff I wrote and you have the nerve to pull one sentence out of it all????????? Go back to the dirty rock from where you came.

    I'm ignorant? Go Blow, Joe.

    My point is this:

    Racism is evil.
    People are ignorant.
    People should stop being racists.
People don't care to end racism.
People have a choice to stop being racists.
Racist material should be put away until people are MUCH smarter.
If people don't want racism to end or don't consider it to be a threat to humanity...

then I'm all for throwing it in the bleepin' trash.

Saying to burn it of course is an extreme comment used to make a point. Or do you think I want to burn down neighborhoods too???

My point is learn the easy way...
    or learn the HARD way.

They didn't exactly stop Hitler with a hug and a handshake, now did they?

I'm not waiting around for people to stop acting like garbage. Stay away from me with your idealistic views. As unrealistic as people seem to think I am, I am actually very realistic.

    GOT it?

If you can't read, how can you call me ignorant.
    learn to read.

    Finally KingJoek,

if you feel that racism, which kills PEOPLE, is actually worse than throwing away racist cartoons, which kills EXPRESSION...

your head is screwed on wrong.

You can write another book, but I only get one life.

What right of freedom is it to contribute to racism?
What right of expression does a murderer or rapist have?
Would you watch a video of child pornography or allow a link to such material to exist on this site or on a place that you visit often???

What am I looking to stop... HATE.

If people fail to see the ill effects of racism, then try to teach them it's ill effects. Don't destroy the free speech of others, you really don't have the right.
Teach them what? Turn on your TV and open your eyes. Mainly, open your heart.

If someone yells "Fire!" in a crowded room... illegal.
If someone sends a threatening email... illegal.
If someone acts as a racist or supports it... illegal.

America is not so Amazing. There is a whole world out there with a lot of AMAZING things going on. Europe is pretty friggin' amazing, too. As are other countries and areas that are concerned with the LIFE of the individual. In fact, people that work beyond their hate-filled governments are pretty amazing too. America is not amazing to me as long as racism continues to run out of control.

bmaxx and akira12 .. you both have stated that your opinions on this issue are 100% correct and that anyone that disagrees with them is wrong...

I belive that never sense the Inquisition has a more self proclamed stance of single minded reasoning above all logical debate been better spoken.

I thank you both for joining the board just to post on this one thread over and over again..

however posting negative comments to other people that you view as not understanding your issues and therefore stupid... is not a hallmark of common civil debate.

If you wish to post your opinions that is fine, but insulting others for there opinions regardless of what there opinions are, surves no purpose but to demean your own argument by showing a lack of restrained civilaty on your part.

I would also like to say to anyone that is replying with like comments back to these two.. that they should take a moment to realise that by taking the time to respond to a negative post.. you are infact setting yourself up for another immature post and so on.

If you would like to comment on this post.. feel free as it is a good topic...

If you would like to comment on the low-brow posts that are clear starters for a name calling flame war..I would hope that you would take a moment and realize that you would be lowering the worth of this thread and eventually causing it to either be locked or erased.

I am sure that bmaxx would like this to happen and I hope that anyone that would like to carry on a real conversation, will take the time to ignore or move past his comments and not fall into the trap of allowing someone elses single minded views to distroy what has been for the most part a very informative thread.

However, the MAIN point of this thread is about WB and there unwillingness to release cartoons set in the past that show other races in a negative light.

This thread has nothing to do with rape, or world hunger, or real world anything.. it is about cartoons that where made in a different time and how people feel about them being shown today.. that is all.

If you feel like you need to open this disscussion up for issues like rape in cartoons or life or world hunger in real life then that is fine.. but no matter what, be prepared to listion to views from BOTH sides of an issue, if you are not able to do that.. then you should not be posting on a open discussion board to begin with.

This thread seems to have gotten quite off course, and is degenerating to personal attacks. Worse yet, it is detracting from the focus and purpose of this site, which is to act as a resource for Flash.

I'll say that I believe everyone involved had valid points. If you wish to continue the conversation, most people have some sort of instant messaging or e-mail listed in their profiles, and there are many more places where this type of conversation is better suited.

I'll let people have their final say before I close the thread.

    bmaxx,

As I stated earlier, I agree with a lot of what you said.
However, if you want people to truly try to at least WANT to TRY understand your point of view, it's a good idea to try NOT to insult them. I think I understand your frustration. People seem to be missing the point of this thread, because it has yet to be clearly defined. So once again I state:

The title is "Bugs Bunny Retrospective Outrage!"

What exactly is the outrage about?

Is it about the fact that Cartoon Network was actually contemplating showing racist offensive cartoons?

    or...

Is it that some are dissapointed about not being able to see these cartoons on THEIR televisions, in THEIR homes?

If you are disappointed about not being able to watch these cartoons on T.V. , why?

What could you hope to glean or learn from a cartoon that targets a specific race for humiliation?

If for some reason you are nonchalant or indifferent toward the issues of racism contained within these animated shorts. Then I would ascertain (and please correct me if I'm wrong...) that it is not your race or culture being defamed. (IE, Japanese, Black, or American Indian)

Will anyone who has contributed to this thread please address any of these issues.

    Oh and Tartarsause...
I'm sure whether or not you joking about the racist characterization of Mr. PO PO in DBZ. But it is something that I had acknowledged as well. It's quite obvious that he is an insulting representation of a black person. Anyone who has watched the show knows that all the Nameks are green except with the exception of Mr. PO PO who is extremely dark and resembles the Black face characters in those Bugs Bunny Cartoons. He is subserviant, weak, and stupid. No outrageous conspirary theory...just fact.

What's the problem with this you ask?
DBZ is a popular contemporary cartoon people! Hell. Why should Cartoon Network stop with DBZ!!?? Go ahead and put all the racist caricatures that you can find. It's not like racism is big problem in this day and age. Geez. I dont understand what the debat is about.

LIke I said CNO, like I said. YOU should have listened when I told you.

    now...

    tartarsause,

I find it funny that you singled out me and akira12. REAL FUNNY. Akira12 said a few words to support me. You didn't mention Barney-what's-his-name or KingJoe calling me stupid.

It is very obvious where you stand on my views.

If I feel the need to comment on such matters in a public forum I will do so when and how I see fit. I was outraged after doing a simple search for something... look what I found... Nothing more, nothing less. I don't have to post topics to be an active user of this site. The message board is but a small portion of this FlashKit and I visit other areas. It's none of your business "post counter".

If you value viewing racist material over someone writing positive information on how to combat said racist material, then you are the one who is single-minded.

DID YOU POST ABOUT ANY OTHER OUTRAGEOUS COMMENTS???
    NO... just mine and akira12.

I see who you are and so does everyone else.

the attacement to flash I think is that this is an animation board and WB animation is the topic..

I think debating the issue of how cartoons affect other people is / or was as good topic..

I am sorry that it ended like this... but finding an issue like this that will be openly debated by reasonable people without harsh or insultful words being spoken by some is not going to happen until everyone learns to retrain themselfs to not reply to base flame posts.

had everyone ignored and moved on from the negative posts, this thread would still be going.. however some fell into the trap and now its closed... I hope in the future others will learn to overlook the types of negative posts that where made on this thread and move on without feeling the need to reply to them.

    akira12,

You are right, I shouldn't be insulting.
I don't like someone calling me stupid and
I don't like people spreading these links.
This is a very serious topic for me.

I try to maintain my composure, but in the heat of my frustration, I see that the underlying point of people is just to silence or find faults in my arguement so that they can discredit my opinion.

So you are right, and I hope it doesn't take away from your support earlier ;-).

    take care.

    Tartarsauce,

    You said:
"akira12 .. you both have stated that your opinions on this issue are 100% correct and that anyone that disagrees with them is wrong... "

Where did I say this? I asked questions to see where people are coming from.

"What exactly is the outrage about?
Is it about the fact that Cartoon Network was actually contemplating showing racist offensive cartoons?
    or...
Is it that some are dissapointed about not being able to see these cartoons on THEIR televisions, in THEIR homes?
If you are disappointed about not being able to watch these cartoons on T.V. , why? "

Also where in this thread have I insulted anyone as you have just done to me? I stated that I agreed with most of what Bmaxx has said, not with the way that he has said it.

Just a thought before you lump people with similiar views into one pot. I actually thank you for answering at least one of my questions.

"However, the MAIN point of this thread is about WB and there unwillingness to release cartoons set in the past that show other races in a negative light. "

    Thank you, for your response.

    tartarsause,

    blah, blah, blah, blah.

This post is closed, because I closed it.

If I find racism creeping into my daily life I will comment on it as I see fit. The same way people feel the need to bring up topics which they know very little about and show very little sensitivity with.

I will never site by and watch it happen.

Remember that, today and in the future.

If you feel what I wrote is negative.
    You have some serious problems.

This thread was pretty insulting and negative, before I came along. I think you should put some of my posts on your refrigerator.

    - the debate issue at hand :

the point of this thread is about WB and there unwillingness to release cartoons set in the past that show other races in a negative light

    - the final answer for this debate:

it is evident that issues of race, gender, and religion are not and cannot be discussed openly or in any form on this board. This is a board related to issues of flash animation and while some topics may come close to this issue.. the issue itself should not be discussed on this board.

It has become clear that we are not able to carry on this type of conversation without it becoming a flame war and therefore I would suggest closing this thread and enforcing a " no race, gender, religion " rule on this board to help further stop this type of event from happening in the future
