Transforming in Photoshop 6

When transforming a gif image to a slightly smaller size it becomes choppy and slightly disproportionate. Tried to do this by both editing the image size (constraining proportions) and by using the transform command. Is there another way to do this or is there some tool out there that can handle this?

do you have fireworks? if so you can use the batch processing command to automatically scale it down for you

Another thing to try is to hold down shift while you transform if you want to keep proportions

Used your suggestion and did it in Adobe Image Ready (I forgot I had the thing I'm so conditioned to using Photoshop). Anyway, it worked fine. Thanks.
