    Hi,

    I had a query regarding tool tips for buttons.

    I know that using a movie clips on the mouse over key frame of a button, tool tips can be shown.

    But I am not aware of any way of giving tool tips to buttons using pure action scripts.

    Please help.

    reply to tool tip query

    hi, Victor.A

    Thanks for responding.

    What I mean by tool tip is the information or the ALT TAG (as in HTML) on mouse over of a button.

    Put the tool tip (movie behavior give it a name like tool1 )where ever you like then set alpha to 0
    Then add this to you button

    on (rollOver) {
    tellTarget ("tool1") {
    }
    _alpha100;
    }
    on (rollOut) {
    tellTarget ("tool1") {
    }
    _alpha0;
    }

    Thanks Tracer

    I know this is possible using movieclips.

    What I wanted to know is whether, it is possible using variables only.

    thanks

    You mean some sort of built-in tool tip in Flash, huh? Don't know of any. I think you have to build them yourself.
