    I am loading an external .swf into _level1. I would like to make sure this external file is completely loaded before I procede on the main time line.

    Is there a way i can check the status of this loaded movie.

    hmm hi I used the getBytes command. this is not exactly what I want to do though.

    I want to have the loaded movie play completely through before moving on in the main time line

    Any help is appreciated.

    Ok to "pause" the main timeline I used an action in the final frame of the loaded movie Like:

    ifFrameLoaded (last){
    _level0.menu.gotoAndPlay (15);
    }

    with the stop action in frame 14 of the main time line.

    This works. But i would like to control this action from a frame in the main time line rather than the loaded movie. any ideas?

    Checking from a loop in the main timeline should do it:

    if (loadedClip._currentframe==loadedClip._totalframes ) {
    play();
    }

    hope this helps,
    HC

    (apologies to everyone who read the previous version of this post, I was temporarily insane)

    I can assure you that I wasn't making fun of you. I was probably just being a bit low on caffeine, therefore giving bad advice.
