Flash 5 Actionscript and Java

Ever since I started programming with actionscript in Flash 5, I noticed that it was very similar to all the other programming languages. I am starting to know Java, and am wondering if there is a site just as good as flashkit for java. I want to know both to incorporate it in websites to get the both out of web design.
