Load movies

I'm building a portfolio site, I would like to open movieclips or movies (whatever's best) by clicking on a thumbnail. But is laoding a movie in a /dummy movie the best option? Because I'm not preloading that content, there will be preloaders for every item that's been clicked on.

Loading movies is probably the best way right? but how should I do it?
