    Hello !

I have a really big XML file that must be loaded into the movie, it takes a really long time and I need to make a splash screen with a timeline so the user knows how long time it will take.

    1. Does anyone know if this can be done ?, Flash seem to lock during loading.

    2. The XML file only seem to be loading for as long as there is available Memory, is there a way to control this before user get's prompted for lack of memory ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Ok...

Surely you can't be restricted to this huge XML doc.... I would hope that you would be able to break it up and deal with it in smaller bits and pieces... It kinda makes me wonder if the XML was coded efficiently or not... Not that I'm ripping on you... but... well...

If you can break up your XML that will help...

I have heard that Flash's FPS starts to gimp along while XML is being parsed... personally I haven't been able to notice too much of a problem though. I'll try to grab a 'large' XML file and see what happens.. unless you want to send me yours - or even part of yours?
