swf's playing back slowly!! help im stumped!!

Has anyone come across this?, only recently my swf files
play back locally (on my machine) at about half speed
the same files played from a html template play at the right
speed in internet explorer, but again slowly in netscape
im at a total loss as to why this should happen, im not
running any other software at the same time and i've got
plenty memory (256meg)0n a 400mhz machine.
any help greatly appreciated

if you "enlarge" the movie it will run much slower
for example: you've got a 100*100 movie
and you blow it up till 400*400 => much slower

cheers for your reply, but that is not the problem,
even if i scale down the open swf by grabbing the edge
and making it smaller it still doesnt help,
in internet explorer the swf plays back fine even at full
screen but if i play just the swf itself it is about half
speed, the same in netscape browser i cant understand it
like i say it is a problem that developed recently
