hey there. i have a question regarding texteffect and then converting into a button... let's say that i made a text effect for a text called 'email' (using complex effect such as explode in swish1.51 for instance). after the effect is over what i am supposed to do to make the text 'email' as a button? meaning after the text effect is over i want the user to be able to click it. i know that i can make a button beforehand and apply an effect. However, we can not apply complex effect on an object in swish 1.51. so, once again, how can i apply an effect to a text and then making it 'click-able'? thank you very much for stopping by. peace
Hi there
Hope I am understanding your problem.
Just create a simple button in Flash . Then enter into the button editing mode . Go to the Over stage. Create another symbol - a Movie Clip.
Now open swish. Create the animation/Effect there. Export the swf.Go back to Flash , the MC(Movie Clip). Import the swf there. . Now put the MC on the Button Over stage. .
Now on the Main stage - drag an instance of the button. Right click on the button and insert tha action. On release go to the apprpiate frame.
Hope this helps.
N' then I might just Jump back on An' ride Like a cowboy Into the dawn ........To Montana.

you would probably get a better response asking this question in the swish forum here at FK.
The workaround (for swish 1.5*) is to create 2 objects, one your exploding text effect and another an invisible object in the same location as your explode object (you can create an invisible object by using your spacebar).
Place your actual (invisible) button object below your explode object and put your 'goto' action on that invisible object.
With swish 2, it will be a totally different story, you will be able to create button objects with four states and use sprites (with things like explode effects attached) as any of your button states.
Do come and visit us in the swish forum, there are many nice people willing to help you there
