    Hello!

I am VERY new to Flash (using 5.0) and have made a short, simple movie that works great. However, I want the movie to load into the page but not start until the user presses a start button. Is this possible? Can anyone help or even point me to a tutorial?

    Thanks a Bunch!!

double clik on the key frame where you want the movie to be paused at. now go to action tab and clik on + and scroll down and select stop.

When movie opens it will run up to the point of this keyframe and when it gets there it will stop.

hope this is what you were wanting.
    good luck

    Thanks, but not quite...

What i wanted was for the very first frame of the movie to appear with a play button. when the user presses play the movie plays. Simple enough, i thought... ??? but i can't seem to insert a new Frame#1 with a play button and the action on release go to and play frame #2 without messing up the whole movie.

So, what i tried to do, was convert the animation to a movie clip and put that into frame 2. i've made the first frame with a Play button and the action on release go to and play frame 2. This works fine, HOWEVER, now the movie clip does not play... AAARRRRRGGGHHH!!!!

    Please help... anyone...
Have i done something wrong? am i on the right track?

    Thanks again!
