    Thumbs up

    Hi Guys,

Thought I'd join in the general moan regarding rendering .3ds files. I don't own Studio Max so I 'borrowed' a .3ds file from 3dcafe to try and push Swift to the edge. The file was a nice computer monitor (about 12K) - it started to render and stopped about half way down the monitor. Geeze! I left it about half an hour but no progress...
Text is fine, as are wingdings (the fastest way to get some nice looking symbols).
I guess we'll have to wait until they sort out the Ravix processor so it can deal with complex overlapping shapes.
In the meantime I'll try reducing the graphics settings (!?)
    (sigh)
Generally though I think Swift3d is great and thank god it exists.

Could you e-mail me the .3DS file or point out specifically which one it was on 3D Cafe? I'd like to take a look at it.

    thanks.

I have noticed alot of the same thing. When i render textt hat is small it takes forever and it eats 100% of my resources. I am useing a 450mhz celron with 260megs ram and sometimes it even crashes my system(win2k). Is ther anyway to avoid this or to tweak the rendering process?
