linking flash with an application [.exe]

First let me introduce myself my name is Harsha mohan i am 16 year old boy who is a beginner at flash. Right now i am trying to build a homepage using flash but i have a problem

PROBLEM : i want to link a button to an application [.exe] for example icq.exe. I am using flash 5

you can only run executables from local presentations ( http://www.actionscripts.org/tutoria...es/index.shtml ) if you try and link an exe via flash through the browser, it will just download the file... and you use getURL for that
