Hi,
I already have a gif that I would like to place over a background gif, so that the background gif shows through the overlying gif (I need to make this gif transparent).
Is there a simple way of doing this?
Any help appreciated. JJed

What software have you used to make the .gif files?
If it's something like ImageReady or Fireworks it's easy -
any other .gif editor shouldn't be too hard -
Let us know the software your using and watch the responses flood in . . .!

Thanks for your reply.
I used Photoshop 5 to make the gif (now have version 6).

GAME ON!!!!
This should work. Save you image as a PSD. Open layer window, duplicate layer, delete the background leave the copy. Select your Wand, then delete all the areas you don't want. The BG should turn to blocks to show you transparent areas. Now go to File, Export, Gif89a. You should see a box that reads Default Transp Index Color. Click the box and check the preview. I had to asume you hadn't used PS before.

Hey Meagatoon - couldn't have put it better myself.
Hey JJed - if you have PS6 then you should've got ImageReady 3 with it - optimise all your web graphics using this software coz it's brill . . .

Thanx Bendy_Branch,
But I also realized PS6 has a Save For Web Option (I use 5 at home). You can save transp with gifs. The cool thing is it gives you a different preview for hi and lo rez. So you can optimize file sizes. And on the topic of Image Ready, JJed, you can import PSD's with transp and convert to a gif anim.
