Hi
I am just wondering if it possible to set the alpha property of a movie clip from 100% to 0% but gradually with a fading effect
thanks in advance

You certainly can.
What you obviously need to do is create a movie clip.
Double click on it and place as many frames along the time line as you require. At the end frame put in Create Motion Tween followed by Insert Keyframe. At this frame, bring up the Effects Panel and set the Alpha to your desired setting.
Finally goto frame 1 and again set the Alpha to your liking.Cheers,

Hello Micmac,
thanx for your answer but there is misunderstanding here. I probabably did not explain it clearly enough.
I know how to make a fading effect WITHIN a MC but what I actually want to do is to control the alpha of a MC (that has no fading effect at all), from the main stage, with the "setproperty" function.
I know this can be done in one shot with the setproperty function, but I want the alpha of the MC to be reduced to 0% gradually.
I hope it is more clear now and thanx again for your help
Julien
