I've seen something like this done somewhere but I cannot remember where.
I am building an image viewer for my website.
I have 1500 images. I would like to all of the JPEG images all in a folder (so I can cycle them in and out later with different ones).
I have a .fla file and I want it to pull up the JPEG image based on the images NAME (1.jpg, 2.jpg .... 1499.jpg, 1500.jpg)
I do NOT want to put each into it's own SWF file, etc. I was wondering if Flash (.swf) files can actually do this or not. It can pull .txt (text) files in, why not images?
there is a intermediate tutorial on caching movie clips coming out on flashkit in the next couple of days. this might really help you out.
One method of approaching this is to put a jpeg in a movie clip. using the load movie action you will be able to perform the operations you want.
