    Disappearing Details

I don't know if this is a function of a bug in beta 6.

My system's configuration or some combination of
    the two.

Thought I'd show it to you.

Now you see them (Scene 1, Text etc):

    http://home.earthlink.net/~spurtnik3/ge-bad/Details.jpg

    Now you don't:

    http://home.earthlink.net/~spurtnik3.../NoDetails.jpg

I only have four programs and windows open:

Inbox / Netscape / Swish / Tifny (Newsgroup image saver)

    320 MB memory / Win2k / AGP 16 MB Video / 3GB free space

    Here's the SWI. Pretty simple.

    http://home.earthlink.net/~spurtnik3...d/EvilTest.swi

Also just rebooted the PC to free up whatever resources might
still be tied up from having left it on all night.

The short answer is "YES", the longer answer is, read the release notes of this beta release and the one the preceeded it and you will also get a pretty good idea of when. Note that this FINAL beta has a shelf life of 5 days.

    Harvey ...

I followed the steps you mentioned, and nothing happened on my system ... Did you do anything else ? Is this part of a new file, or a more complex file ? If you open Swish Beta 6, and do that on a fresh new file, does it happen every time ?

Every system seems to react differently to Swish ... I'm just trying to get some more information for the Swish Team, as they might have the same luck I just had

Maybe you should send them the .swi file ...

    Just a thought ...

Hope it gets worked out for ya

    Good Luck

WOW - I tried this one... no illegal operation; Swish just totally shut down without a trace!

I was under the impression that 6u didn't have the 5 day shelf life.

So after 5 days we can no longer test out our Betas?

I downloaded this SWI and it works fine.
Is there anything I have to do to make it happen?

    Cheers, David.

    ---------------

    I don't know, David. I don't know if it's an
anomaly of Swish or of my system's configuration.

Without knowing what's causing it to happen,
I couldn't begin to tell you whether or not there's
anything you can do to make it happen.

As I speak, I'm getting the same effect with a
    different SWI.

I thought it might be worthwhile to share because
it's happening. If I ever figure out why, I'll
    share that too.

Has this ever happened to anyone else or:

    Just Me.

    ???

I've had similar bugs popping up where I'd select a "group as sprite" item and the objects in the outline window would disappear.

    Running Win2K SP2, 512mb SDRAM, Voodoo3 3000 8mb, IE 5.5 SP1

    Swish2 still crashes at random.

Arrrrghh! There is nothing more frustrating than a "Swish crashes at random" comment.
Imagine you had a problem with your car, but you couldn't demonstrate the problem to
your mechanic. Would they be able to fix it?

Please tell us how to reproduce the problem. If we can reproduce it, it will be fixed.

    Cheers, David.

The Version 6u Beta was the only Beta I downloaded. Was attempting to do a drawing and was planning on using the circle to do a cutout on my drawing but discovered that there was no

Hi Ladylogic.. the programme is not primarily a graphics programme and just provides simple (yet underneath it all, complex) drawing ability. You would be far better off drawing your images in a drawing programme and importing them as images. Within SWISH it would be possible to mask the section you wanted to remove from your circle.
The only effective eraser in SWISH is the UNDO button.
