Thread: swf probs in explorer

  1. #1
    Hi there

I've been using an external text file for my flash stuff, so my clients don't have to deal with fash to update their site.

It works fine apart from on Macs using explorer, where it goes terribly wrong

one of the sites is http://www.music-is-music.com

the site is not lauched/tested yet,but you'll see some example of what is wrong

someone please put me in the right dirrection as to fix this problem..

    thanks

Do you mean why is the same text visible in each text feild? You must have given each field the same variable name, they have to be different. Hope this helps.

    cheers for the speedy reply

I have done that already, the same text does appear at first but switchs to the correct one promptly

The problem I'm refering to only appears on macs using explorer, where it has difficulties opening the external text document

if you checked my site using macs on explorer, and didn't experience those problems, then I really don't understand

someone please help me as I really wanna promote myself with this site (to get work) but can't till it's fully functional

PS if anyone has time to check the fla, please let me know their email, many thanks....

Make sure you have the right version of flash. Right/ctrl click on the flash file running in the viewer and make sure the plugin is the correct version of flash. The plugin does not auto upgrade like it does on the PC.

Also installing flash may not upgrade all the version of the browsers as you often find multiple copies of the browsers.

    Thanks

Yes Flash 5 detection will help, well it will at least let people know what they need to run your web page:
