Hi, I am not a designer, I am a programer, but I am trying to work on my design skills. I don't do to bad when it comes to ideas, but when it comes to colors, I just can't seem to know what looks good. I don't know if this is a comon problem, but I have tried looking at other sites, and I have tried looking at household products, and I just don't know what looks good? Everything looks good to me! Then I am informed by some one else that what I did looks ok, but the colors are more than ugly! I could realy use some help here please!
What I realy want/need:
1 background color to go with 1 main color, and 1 0r 2 highlight colors.
Thanks for any help you can give me!!!

Check this out:
http://www.lynda.com/hex.html
Lynda has written a couple books on web color. The best thing about them is that they give you tons of coordinating color schemes.
Also consider buying a basic book of colors. Make sure they discuss the basics of the color wheel and also go into hues and symbolic nature of colors in different cultures.
Good luck!

Thanks A BUNCH!!!
Want to know the funny thing? I am an art major! Ha! But I deal mostly with clay, and metal, and I don't paint or stain my work. I like the earthen look, but that dosn't cut it on the web! If you want to see my last color attempt it's: http://www.knoj.com
Thanks again!!!
