What software would I use to create a slide show effect?

Hello,

I am updating a site for a client, and I want to put in a slide show. I'd like it to look exactly like the slide show that I see when I log onto AOL, pick the News button, and choose CBS News See & Hear.

I think it's incredible. Without waiting a second, a slide show appears. The screen is about 3" X 3", the photo changes about every 4-5 seconds, the audio is crystal clear, and it lasts for about 30 seconds.

How was this done?
