    Okay...

    So I bought the Creative Flash 5 ! book from Macromedia, and the Flash 5 Bible.

    I've read through tutorials, etc. I can do what these resources say, but I can't apply it well!

    Any tip for getting over the hump of understanding to implementation? Any good books that help you do this? What are they?

    i suggest you to continue in what you are currently doing. It can be a little painful at times but through trial and error it will all make sense.
