Hey, Let me introduce myself a bit before I post.

My name is Noah, I am 14, and I live in Ohio.

Ok now that THAT is over with, lets get to my sites.

For the past half an hour I have been fidling around with a design concept for my site.

So far I have come up with these three splash pages:

    http://www.absdrakt.com
    http://www.tggcom.f2s.com/absdrakt
    http://www.tggcom.f2s.com/absdrakt/index2.html

    Thanks in advance.

    Noah

In a cavern, in a canyon,
    Excavating for a mine,
    Dwelt a miner, forty-niner
    And his daughter Clementine.
    Oh my darling, Clementine

Hi Noah ~ Welcome to FlashKit

    I like #2 ... #1 "Couldn't be displayed" and #3 took forever to load

#1 and #2 were great. #3 wasn't that bad, but a bit too filtery. My favorite is #1.

    Thanks guys!

F2S (the host for #2 and 3) is down a lot.

These images are not final images that I will use on my site. That is why they are not sized down for a site (even though I did "Save for Web").

    Thanks,
    Noah

Take no offense here man, but I'm gonna be outright and honest.

The first one is absolutely pointless. First of all, you have NINE different colors! Never underestimate the power of a simple color palatte. Choose 3-4 of the colors that coordinate - don't get caught up in using tons of colors (unless you're designing a site for LifeSavers). The funky graphic to the right of the text is completely out of place and serves no purpose - not even as a visual enhancement. It honestly looks like you tried too hard to make an "edgy" graphic" Try using more layers - at very low opacity settings - to help ease the transition from the background color to the graphical element. You want the page to look as if all the elements are in tune with each other.

The second one is much better. Reminds me a lot of some of Josh Ulm's work. At 70K though - it migh be a bit large for a splash page. Try breaking the graphic up and setting it up in a tableset so that the space around the bug is 4-color GIF and the bug itself is a JPG. I'll bet you can drop the page down to about 30K.

The third image is like "Planet of the Apes" meets the "Communist Propaganda Machine". The font does not work with the deisgn and mood your are creating around it. I would consider making the face a more prominent feature of the design - and lowering the juice a tad on the battery-power - cuz dang - that's bright!

Hope this helps! Good luck and keep pluggin away!

The first one (the new one) is by far the best of the 4. Nice and dirty!
