    Hello

I have an older version of Max 1.2 I was wondering what is the best way of exporting legacy Max renderings and importing them into Flash.

I can get .avi out but flash wants .mov
any tips on methods that provide the most economy.

I have searched for plug-ins for rev 1.2 but have found none. It's all Max 3.0 and greater.

    I am developing Terets syndrom.

Your best bet is probably exporting MAX models and suitable animations in .3DS format and then importing the .3DS into Swift 3D (although you should really updgrade to 3.1).

If you want to see what one of your models might look like, e-mail me the .3DS file and I will send you back a .SWF.

    good luck!

    Upgrade or swift3d

The choice you are evaluating is not good. If you convert your exported avi file into a mov file, when you import it to flash you'll get a large set of frames, each one with a bitmap imported (a very large file size).

So, really, export it to .3ds and import this file swift (www.swift3d.com).

Other choice is you upgrade your 3dMax to version 3.1. This version is wonderfull and exists plugins like vecta and illustrate.
