    "eq" is deprecated Flash 4 syntax, use "==" to test for equality in Flash 5 now ok!

    "=" is Flash 1-5+ syntax, and means assignment not equality, ie assign something to have a certain value of something else just like normal maths at school

    eg

    intOne = 1; // assign intOne to be of value 1
    intTwo = 2; // assign intTwo to be of value 2

    if(intOne==intTwo){ // test for equality between intOne and intTwo to see if they both have the same value
    trace("they ARE both equal");
    }else{
    trace("they're NOT both equal");
    }
