    Thumbs up

One of my most important fla files was recently opened and edited as a text file in windows. The file was saved as a fla file, with only changes to a URL reference in it, but now will not open in Flash, giving 'failed to open doccument' messages. This is easily my most important file and I have fired the person who altered it without making a backup.

This is a desperate request to see if anybody can help fix the file to make it readable again.

whith which text editor was the fla edited?

open it again in text editor and change the URL back to what it was before. Make sure it is the same. If you give more details I would love to help. or coppy paste the part where the URL was edited and I'll see if I can do something.

make sure you have a backup copy this time
