How to stop a movie clip from looping?

I have created a movie in which there is a MC. The movie clip has some motion tweening. I have inserted a stop action in the first frame on the main scene for the movie clip to stop looping. The problem is when the button is pressed again, the MC loops again playing across the stage. I want it to be that when the button is pressed after the first time, the MC stops (but is still there on the stage)and does not play (loop) again. Please help!

All you have to do is put a stop action in the movie itself where you want it to stop.

place a stop action on the last fram of your MC, not the main movie.
