A flash site is an swf file that is embedded in an HTML page. The back button on your browser lets you navigate between HTML, PHP, ASP, and other such pages. Because a flash file is based on ONE html page, hitting the back button will only bring you to the previous HTML page, not the previous page in that flash swf.

One rather rudimentary way to facilitate the back
button, would be to have a particular section of the
site, like "Products", be a separate html page that
opens in a new window, and links to other html pages
as part of that "set" that all open in this new
window. At least when they're in that section, they can bookmark it, and have limited use of the back
    button within that section.

    Any other ideas, anybody?
