Timeline issues

How do you target the main timeline of an entire swf from a button in an mc? I have an mc that shows up and has a continue button in it that I want to force the main timeline to go to the next scene.

Any help is appreciated.

If I'm not misunderstanding you, I believe that you can either go to the main level by typing "_root" or by typing "/"

Thanks for the help! For some reason though, "_root" wasn't working and "/" worked. I don't know if it was an expression issue or what but it works now and this project was supposed to be done yesterday so I'm gonna get crackin.
