    My preloader seems worthless, any ideas on changes i can make?[+]

    I have a percentage preloader in my first scene and my main content in the second scene. It takes forever for my preloader to even appear and it doesn't show up before half the entire movie is already loaded and the percentage bar is halfway finished. (I know that it's because the file is so big, IE is trying to start streaming it but it's no good if somebody is staring at a blank screen for 40 seconds before a preloader even shows up)
    (you can view it here- http://www.rochester-citynews.com/dining.html )

    Is there any way i can load my "preloader" in by itself on..let's say _level1 while the main movie is loading on _Level0? If so, how do i get my preloader on Level1 to read how much my main movie is loaded on level2? Here is the code i'm currently using for my preloader:

    total_bytes = _root.getBytesTotal();
    loaded_bytes = _root.getBytesLoaded();
    remaining_bytes = total_bytes-loaded_bytes;
    percent_done = int((loaded_bytes/total_bytes)*100);
    bar.gotoAndStop(percent_done);
    ifFrameLoaded ("Content", 200) {
    gotoAndPlay(3);
    }

    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated,

    try this:

    on the first frame of the first scene insert this code:

    total_bytes = getBytesTotal();
    loaded_bytes = getBytesLoaded();
    percent_done = int((loaded_bytes/total_bytes)*100);
    bar.gotoAndStop(percent_done);

    on the second frame of the first scene:

    if(percent_done == 100)
    {
    gotoAndPlay("Content", 1);
    }

    else
    {
    gotoAndPlay(1);
    }
