Suggestion: Regional Forums

What really is the difference between an Aussie forum and lets say a UK forum ? OK, geographically theres a huge difference, and they down a few more beers in "down under" but apart from that i mean ?

What i´´m after is what these forums would be about. That must be of more interest than just creating a forum because you are from a different continent.

No offence intended here, but as yet, no-one had suggest what the reasoning is behind the idea.....

I suppose it's a sort of pride thing. As in maybe some countries think they are smarter then others? So they think it would be better to talk to people like them? whatever that's probably wrong...actually I think it's a cultural thing. European culture is different from American culture in a few ways I think....

A personal question to Gandalf.....are you a fan of "Lord of The Rings" ?

Yeah. I am reading the Book of Lost Tales right now, it's(Lost Tales) a bit confusing though.

Current jobs market/work climate,
Events such as flashforward and flashkit fall,
Looking for people close to home to work with on projects,
Advertising gigs/jobs etc..

Looking for advice on other services eg. web hosting
Critique of cool UK/US/other Flash sites

Oh and of course,
General regional banter - politics/tv/weather/favourite type of mollusc etc.

That's another thing I didn't think of - conversation in languages other than english, something you don't see on these boards. If it wasn't my first language, I'd be much more inclined to get involved in discussion with others of the same tongue.

Some really great ideas. Now the second question. Is this board capable of hosting these forums ? Or to re-phrase, would they be willing to ?

You who are longstanding members would probably know the answer to that.

To Gandalf....I havnt read that, just the 4 first books "The Hobbit, The Fellowship, The 2 Towers and The Return...". Its taken me approx 10 years to read twice

Lets do it then..
I read earlier that 20 or so supporters would be enough, (for each forum i guess).

Even if Sweden dos´nt get a forum of its own, i would support any of the other suggestions. Being a Britt myself, relatives in Canada, USA, Australia (forefathers), Germany, Scotland....whew !!

What would be the next step to make this a serious suggestion ? I think we´ve proven a point here allready.

Most sensible route for the site to expand i would say.Flash Kit is so popular now that regional forums are not just a good idea but essential

Thee Hobbit, The Samarillion (or something to that effect ), and the last LOTR book were the best. The Fellowship was soooo slow, no action. It took me 5 years to read that one alone hehe.

PS: I still want that Canadian Forum!
