Probably a really basic question but i am having problems creating an interactive version of my bedroom. I have the main timeline with two layers - 1 for actions and one for everything else. I have created a chest of drawers and the idea is that when clicked on, the top drawer opens etc. However the "onmouse event" property is not available. without the stop action in the first frame of chest of drawers movie clip, the drawer opens and closes constantly. How can i get it so that it only opens when clicked on??

Does it have to be a button to use an 'onmouse event'??

Appologies for such a basic question, but please help!

    Cheers

    Andy

mouse events like on (release) or on (press) work on button instances only.
for movie clips there's a different event handler called onClipEvent (data,enterFrame,load...)
but you can look this stuff up by switching your actions panel to normal mode. flash will then show, what commands you can use.
