I'll be honest I wasn't very impressed with electroflashmedia, very well programmed DHTML but very little design.

Also I wasn't greatly impressed with vectorgate.com, it seemed to me to be made up of rather lame text effects and cliched statements which frankly have given Flash the bad name it now has, I have seen far too many web sites with a text effects that tells me the interent is changing and that their sites will change the way we see the web.

THe blatant rip off of Stargate didn't go unnoticed either.

i had nothing to do with the Electroflash site, but my boss had some work with them, and he was very impressed, so am i. their site is all about innovation, not everyone likes it. its a bit dark as well. what i like about it is the originality, i mean who gives a flying s**t if they used standard icons, but their site looks so different from everything else on the web.

look around the web, electroflash has been/is featured on many link sites, so i think it has just a bit of design

That to me is EXACTLY what makes a site "well designed", the very best sites really have spent hours making sure their icons are perfect or have spent days working on a piece of code to make an effect that little bit smoother.

I personally don't think different necesarilly means original, yes the layout is different and in this case is vageuly original but on the whole the two are not always the same thing.

Try looking at ElectroFlashMedia on a MAC - Its a mess!!! The design - well it looks like they went for that windows desktop look - highly original (heavy sarcasm).

That Airforce sight was sweet though

    hmm

I just saw the electro site, doesn't work to well on a mac. (netscape anyway)

The epsilon conflict, some cool animation, but it's basically a non-interactive super long
intro/trailer. Hardly worthy of the top five cool sites.

I'll have to find my other set of bookmarks (at home) and post my favs later.

    top 5

To be honest Eric J's work stands out from most sites mentioned, purely for the wow factor and high end graphic design he always delivers. I've said this b4 but I think: Eric>>>>Jordan is the King of 'whizz bang flash'.
Hillman (H.P-simple) Curtis the god of corporate intros and Joshua'|P|R|A|Y|S|T|A|T|I|O|N Davis the man for quirky, intense, slick actionscripting that makes an art our of always reminding us that you gotta suffer for your art - and u can't sleep too much sleep while your at it either.

But then I'd quite like to be Hillman C, pondering over the next Rolling Stone avi change, or chatting up a sexy female New York poet - ahhhhhh maybe one day hey?

Please describe to me what makes the ElectroFlash site so great. I don't see it - there is nothing fresh there. There is no love or hate when you look at it - just.....blah - another desktop.

electroflash has style that not many site have, its extremely unique. Programming and graphics also kick ass, this blends in nicely with flash and the sweet-ass electronic track.

eMedia is sweet too! Very nice site, not as nice as electroflash, but nice nonetheless
