Thread: Using the '&' in dynamic text???????????

  1. #1
    Anyone know how to use the '&' character without Flash considering it the begining of a new variable?

    This is for text being pulled in from a .txt file

    I have tried:

    /&
    \&
    //&
    \\&
    /&/
    \&\
    \\&\\
    //&//

    any other ideas?

    cheers,

    ascii code for & is 38 therefore you should be able to use chr(38) in place of &.

    You need to use the hex code,
    %26
    for &.
    If you ever run into a problem like this, try
    trace(escape("Symbol You Want Code For"))
    in this case,
    trace(escape("&"))

    That should do it!
