hi,
i'm planning to start my own small webdesign company (to earn some money, because i'm 16 and still go to school)
but i can't seem to find a cool name, and when i have one, the domain is already taken...
please help me out! i prefer without the name of flash in it ...

i think this is one of the hardest things to do,
as once you have a neame you are stuck with it.
i decided to call my little business i-d web solutions
but in retrospect i should not have had the hyphen between
the i and the d as it makes phonecalls that much harder.
typical conversation:
prospective client"so that's idwebsolutions.co.uk right?, all one word?"
me "no its i hyphen d websolutions.co.uk"
prospective client "hyphen?"
me "dash"
prospective client "so thats i dash dwebsolutions.co.uk right?"
me "right"
anyway imho get an easy to remember uncomplicated name,
have a think tank with family and friends.

Sad to say, but you may have to opt for a .tv or something extension.. .com's are hard to come by now..

No, seriously, def., pic a name that is available to be your name. Try combining two different things to be the name. Like, portlymonkey.com or redtoenail.com or squarepig.com

Though it may be true that most .com names are taken...a lot were bought on speculation and are being forgotten about or just never re-newed. I just picked up flashgalaxy.com 2 weeks ago. I was looking around and low and behold it was available. Now I may just make use of it in the future. You have to keep your eyes open and look at the history of the names. If they are not being used then they are for sale and if they can't be sold then they may just show up back on the open market.
