someone told me that flash cant connect to a server unless it is in the same domain as the server. So i made my computer a server and hosted my socket movie from my computer and still it wont connect. Can anyone tell me whats wrong?
i'm using windows 2000 and useing the Internet Service manager to host a webserver

I'm not loading information from a xml file
i'm using cult server to make a multiuser program. I'm running the server on my own computer but flash doesn't seem to even connect to my own computer.
any help would be great

Just make sure you check the basic things, can you connect to the port where the server is running?
Is the domain name address correct?
Negate the security problems by running the flash file from your local computer and the security setting shouldn't come into play.
If you are trying to get people to connect from the outside world, you cannot have a firewall between either of you (well not a restrictive one anyway, this is most important at your end, you must have a proper IP and full connectivity.
