Hello,

Is there a way I can make a button in Flash that will make a file download to the views computer ? This is easy in html - I just want to upload a file that can then be downloaded by someone else !

Any help appreciated.

Yes there is basically its really easy you make a button then click geturl but just type the filename
example:
{geturl: test.zip}
just like that then upload it and it works hope i helped you.

Hi Giles,

It's been a while since I've done this but I' m pretty sure you can just use the get url action and then point to the .zip or .doc or any other file, the download dialogbox should appear automaticly.

Thanks for the replies - but what if you want to let them download a mov or mpg - without it trying to run it ?

it is possible to use ftp://yourfile ; but not everyone has ftp software

Well if you need FTP software I suggest CuteFTP for all. It's simple. cheap, and very easily to handle. Good for Pro's and newbies.
