I can't make transparent fills!!!

Hello,

I have a problem. For sonme reason, when I try to create new gradient fills I can not set one of the colours to transparent. I know this is possible because I have seen them used in the pallets I've downloaded from other .fla files. The guide says to simply click the transparent icon but this does not appear in my 'fills' panel at all.

Please Help!

In Flash 5, Once you have selected your colors.
Open the mixer panel and use the slider to lower the alpha of your selected fill.
