Thread: hide and show actions - how does it work

    In a previous thread it was mentioned to use hide and show actions to have different text messages show up in the same place one after the other. I have spent hours trying to do something but it does not work.

    Would someone be so kind as to give a brief tutorial on how this works.

    The element to be shown or hidden by an action requires "element has properties" to be set. Then the element name will then appear in a show or hide action dropdown list.

    Use the key frames feature of the advanced interface to carry out the show or hide at key frame times.

    It would be best to create a child movie one second long.

    On the first key frame of the child movie, use the show action to show the element, then create another key frame half a second later, then use the hide action to hide the element.

    The child movie will loop, and the element will flash.
