I have Adobe Photoshop 6.0, and can't seem to use it. If I enter some text, I can't use none of the filters, they are all disabled, as well with some other functions. Maybe I don't have the right options checked off, when I go to File-New..What background setting should it be and the contents? I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem.

In Photoshop 6, the text are treated as vectors, and so most of the filters can't be applied to it.
What you can do is right click on the layer with the text and select "rasterize layer". then your filter should be selectable once again. The downside to this is that the text is not editable once you've rasterized it.

Are there more filters in PS6, less, or the same?
I had a glance at it over at a mates place and it just looked really weird. Everything was kinda vector based to fit in with AI. but the filter menu looked...well pretty small.
