I won't bore you with details but I've managed to delete some fonts that are apparantly important and now display fonts on my comp are all messed.

Does anyone know of a place where I can restore default windows fonts? I think they were system fonts.

argh, I don't even know what I've done.

    Please help!

    thanks.

I'm on a Mac but you can get the core web fonts here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/typography/...ck/default.htm

from there you can probably get to the system fonts if they are different.

They should be on the CD also, unless MS doesn't do that.

Hope that was a little help.

thanks, but I don't think that'll do the trick.

it seems I've caused more damage than that. I have lost the ability to install new fonts...it isn't an option on the menu anymore.

if i were u id make a new startup disk and reinstall windows from dos, this'll only check all the windows files and if some are corrupted/missing it will reinstall them, hope this helps.

    for real?

did I really mess up so much that I have to re-install windows?

The things I've deleted are the non TTF fonts that are hidden in the fonts folder (unless you choose to see hidden files).

I am a fool I know, stupid mistake. argh.

    Hey squink.

What windows version are you using? I found some info for Windows 95, I imagine if you have the newer Windows versions I'm sure there are better assistants available.

    I hope this helps.
